Coumarin-containing unsaturated ketones react with bromine to give dibromides, which form derivatives of isoxazoles and pyrazoles via reaction with hydroxylamine hydrochloride or phenylhydrazine.A method for preparing coumarin-containing imidazoles from the corresponding anilides was elaborated.
