3-(N6-Chlorphenyl)-2-methyl-9-adenyl)-2,3-dideoxy-D-threo-pentopyranose (1) has been converted into the alkyl 3-(N6-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-methyl-9-adenyl)-2,3-dideoxy-D-threo-pentopyranosides 2 and into the N-aryl-3-(N6-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-methyl-9-adenyl)-2,3-dideoxy-D-threo-pentopyranosylamines 4.The compounds 2 were isolated as mixtures of α and β anomers whereas pure α anomers 3 could be obtained after prolonged reaction times.
