Monomeric, three-coordinate tin(II) and lead(II) complexes with a MCP2 coordination sphere: Sn[CH(PPh2)2]2 and Pb[CH(PPh2)2]2

Li[CH(PPh2)2] reacts with SnCl2 or PbCl2 in tetrahydrofuran to yield the homoleptic complexes Sn-[CH(PPh2)2]2 or Pb[CH(PPh2)2]2. X-ray crystallographic studies reveal similar structures with a monomeric, pyramidal MCP2 core and two distinctly different bis(diphenylphosphino)methanide ligands.
