Radical Cation Diels-Alder Reactions by TiO2 Photocatalysis
Nakayama, Kaii,Maeta, Naoya,Horiguchi, Genki,Kamiya, Hidehiro,Okada, Yohei
, p. 2246 - 2250 (2019/04/10)
Radical cation Diels-Alder reactions by titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysis in lithium perchlorate/nitromethane solution are described. TiO2 photocatalysis promotes reactions between electron-rich dienes and dienophiles, which would otherwise be difficult to accomplish due to electronic mismatching. The reactions are triggered by hole oxidation of the dienophile and are completed by the excited electron reduction of the radical cation intermediate at the dispersed surface in the absence of any sacrificial substrate.
Visible-Light-Irradiated Graphitic Carbon Nitride Photocatalyzed Diels–Alder Reactions with Dioxygen as Sustainable Mediator for Photoinduced Electrons

Photocatalytic Diels–Alder (D–A) reactions with electron rich olefins are realized by graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) under visible-light irradiation and aerobic conditions. This heterogeneous photoredox reaction system is highly e

Electrocatalysis was employed to promote Diels-Alder reactions between electronically mismatched substrates. A catalytic amount of electricity was enough to complete the overall reactions and GC-MS monitoring and CV measurements clearly illustrated the el

Ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complexes promote the efficient radical cation Diels-Alder cycloaddition of electron-rich dienophiles upon irradiation with visible light. These reactions enable facile [4 + 2] cycloadditions that would be electronically mismatch

, p. 6189 - 6194 (2007/10/02)
The scope of and structural constraints upon the diene component in the cation radical Diels-Alder are investigated, with special attention to electronic, steric, and conformational effects. The major factors which control the competition between Diels-Ald
