Dibenzodisilacyclohexadiene reacts with ketones and formaldehyde, under photolytic coditions, to give a variety of products depending on the nature of the ketones used.A compound having 2-sila-3-oxabicyclonona-6,8-diene structure was isolated as a result of intramolecular trapping of a cyclohexadienyl radical.
