Description
2-[(3-Fluorophenoxy)methyl]benzoic acid, commonly known as flumioxazin, is a synthetic herbicide and plant growth regulator that belongs to the benzoic acid chemical class. It is characterized by its ability to control the growth of grasses and broadleaf weeds in various agricultural settings, making it a valuable tool for maintaining crop health and productivity.
Uses
Used in Agricultural Industry:
2-[(3-Fluorophenoxy)methyl]benzoic acid is used as a herbicide for controlling the growth of grasses and broadleaf weeds in various crops such as soybeans, peanuts, fruit trees, and ornamental plants. It functions by inhibiting the synthesis of chlorophyll in the targeted plants, leading to cellular damage and ultimately, plant death. Its effectiveness is attributed to its contact and residual activity, providing long-lasting weed control in different cropping systems.
However, it is crucial to handle and apply flumioxazin with caution, as it can potentially harm non-target plants and aquatic organisms. Proper application and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to minimize the risk of unintended environmental impact.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 114312-47-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,4,3,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 114312-47:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*4)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*4)+(1*7)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 114312-47-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A series of 11-[4-(cinnamyl)-1-piperazinyl]-6,11-dihydrodibenz[b,e]oxepins and related compounds were synthesized and evaluated for their protective activities against complete ischemia, normobaric hypoxia, lipidperoxidation and convulsion. Structure-activity relationship studies of this series led to the finding of (E)-1-(3-fluoro-6,11-dihydrodibenz[b,e]oxepin-11-yl)-4-(3-phenyl-2-prop enyl)piperazine dimaleate (50), AJ-3941 with the most appropriate property for combined pharmacological activities. Compound 50 also shows an inhibitory effect against cerebral edema as well when orally given to rats.
