Synthesis and Biological Activities of Isoxazolopyrimidinyloxymethyl-thiadiazoles, -oxadiazoles and -triazoles

A series of new 5--pyrimidin-4'-yl)oxymethyl>-1,3,4-thiadiazoles (Va-f), -1,3,4-oxadiazoles (VIa-f, VIIIa-c) and -1,2,4-triazoles (VIIa-f) have been synthesized from 4-hydroxy-3-substituted-isoxazolopyrimidines (Ia-c) through N1-(3'-substituted-isoxazolopyrimidin-4-yloxyacetyl)-N4-(substituted phenyl)-3-thiosemicarbazides (IVa-f).These thiosemicarbazides (IVa-f) have been readily obtained from (3-substituted isoxazolopyrimidin-4-yl)oxyacetic acid hydrazides (IIIa-c) in good yields.Structures of the new compounds have been established by their elemental analyses and spectral data.Some of the compounds show marked antibacterial and antifungal activities.Structure activity relationship has also been studied.
