SYNTHESIS OF 9-(HYDROXYALKYLAMINO)GUANINES, NOVEL ANTIVIRAL ACYCLONUCLEOSIDES
Harnden, M. R.,Jarvest, R. L.
, p. 5995 - 5998 (1988)
9-Aminoguanine (3) has been prepared and used as an intermediate in syntheses of 9-(3-hydroxypropylamino)guanine (1d) and 9-guanine (1e), the first reported members of a new series of antiviral acyclonucleosides.

Syntheses of all positional isomers of ring-nitrogen monoaminated guanines, 1-, 3-, 7-, and 9-aminoguanines, and two N,N'-diaminoguanines, 1,7-, and 3,7-diaminoguanines, were achieved starting with deoxyguanosine or O6-methylguanine and with hydroxylamine-O-sulfonic acid or 2,4-dinitrophenoxyamine.Physicochemical characteristics of these N-aminoguanines are described.
