120-98-9 Usage
General Description
5-Amino-4-hydroxybenzene-1,3-disulphonic acid is a chemical compound also known as 4-Amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid. It is a synthetic dye intermediate commonly used in the production of azo dyes, which are widely used in the textile and paper industries. 5-Amino-4-hydroxybenzene-1,3-disulphonic acid is derived from the condensation of 1,3-dichloro-4,6-dinitrobenzene with aniline, followed by reduction to the corresponding 4,6-diaminonitroso compound and subsequent diazotization with nitrous acid. It is a water-soluble compound that can be used as a dye, a pH indicator, and in the manufacturing of various chemical products. Due to its potential harmful effects, it is important to handle this chemical with care and according to safety guidelines.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 120-98-9 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 1,2 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 120-98:
(5*1)+(4*2)+(3*0)+(2*9)+(1*8)=39
39 % 10 = 9
So 120-98-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
