The title complex gives and phosphine oxide (O = PBu3) under irradiation with methylene blue or rose bengal as sensitizer in the presence of oxygen.This reaction proceeds via oxidative elimination of the coordinated phosphine by singlet oxygen.Under irradiation with 254 nm light, the adduct plays the role of a triplet sensitizer.
