Nickel-Catalyzed Reductive Thiolation of Unactivated Alkyl Bromides and Arenesulfonyl Cyanides
Rao, Weidong,Wang, Fei,Wang, Shun-Yi
, p. 8970 - 8979 (2021/07/19)
The cross-electrophile coupling between unactivated alkyl bromides with arenesulfonyl cyanides catalyzed by Ni(acac)2under reductive conditions to form unsymmetrical sulfides is developed. This approach for sulfide synthesis is practical, relies on available, unfunctionalized materials such as alkyl (pseudo)halides, and is scalable. This catalytic strategy provides a complementary method for the preparation of unsymmetrical alkyl-aryl sulfides under mild conditions with good functional group tolerance.

Markovnikov or anti-Markovnikov selective thiol-ene click (TEC) reactions and the synthesis of β-hydroxysulfides via aerial dioxygen activation are prevalent C-S bond forming reactions of styrenes and thiophenols. Herein, by choosing appropriate environme
An Iodine-Mediated Hofmann-L?ffler-Freytag Reaction of Sulfoximines Leading to Dihydroisothiazole Oxides

supporting information, p. 4274 - 4277 (2017/10/23)
A Hofmann-L?ffler-Freytag type cyclization reaction of S-aryl-S-phenylpropyl sulfoximines (and related derivatives) was developed. Using molecular iodine as the initiator under visible light a series of five-membered cyclic products was obtained in moderate to high yields. The approach represents a new strategy for the synthesis of dihydroisothiazole oxides and benzo[d]isothiazoles-1-oxides. (Figure presented.).
B(C6F5)3-Catalyzed Hydrodesulfurization Using Hydrosilanes - Metal-Free Reduction of Sulfides
Saito, Kodai,Kondo, Kazumi,Akiyama, Takahiko
, p. 3366 - 3369 (2015/07/15)
B(C6F5)3-catalyzed hydrodesulfurization of carbon-sulfur bonds was achieved using triethylsilane as the reducing agent. The corresponding products were obtained in good yields under mild reaction conditions. This protocol could be applied to the reduction of sulfides, including benzyl and alkyl sulfides and dithianes, with high chemoselectivities. (Chemical Equation Presented).

, p. 181 - 186 (2007/10/03)
Dithioacetal monoxides were synthesized from aldehydes and cyclohexanone, and reaction of the dithioacetal monoxides with Grignard reagents was investigated. The dithioacetal monoxide synthesized from alkylaldehyde and 4-chlorobenzenethiol reacted with i-
