Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 121586-75-2 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,1,5,8 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 121586-75:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*1)+(5*5)+(4*8)+(3*6)+(2*7)+(1*5)=122
122 % 10 = 2
So 121586-75-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Thermal Properties of 4-Alkoxyphenyl 3,4-Di(4-alkoxybenzoyloxy)benzoates

Takenaka, S.,Masuda, Y.,Iwano, M.,Morita, H.,Kusabayashi, S.,et al.

, p. 111 - 124 (2007/10/02)

A homologous series of 4-alkoxyphenyl 3,4-di(4-alkoxybenzoyloxy)benzoates has been prepared. All the members (from the ethoxy to nonyloxy homologs) show a nematic phase having a fine schlieren texture, and the nonyloxy homolog also shows a smectic A phase

Mesomorphic Properties of A Homologous Series of 4-Cyanophenyl 3,4-Di(4-alkoxybenzoyloxy)benzoates

Takenaka, S.,Morita, H.,Iwano, M.,Kusabayashi, S.,Ikemoto, T.,et al.

, p. 157 - 166 (2007/10/02)

A new homologous series of 4-cyanophenyl 3,4-di(4-alkoxybenzoyloxy)benzoates (from ethoxy to decyloxy homologs) has been prepared. The homologs show both nematic and smectic A phases with fine schlieren and fan textures, respectively, whereas these have extremely large molecular breadth. The series is assumed to form an associated dimer and behave as a partially bilayer type smectic A phase. The dielectric properties have also been examined and the results support the formation of the associated dimer. The results have been discussed in terms of the geometry of the molecules. Keywords: mesomorphic properties; dielectric properties; polar liquid crystals; associated dimer.
