Photostimulated synthesis of 2-(diphenylphosphino)benzoic acid by the SRN1 reaction
Barolo, Silvia M.,Martin, Sandra E.,Rossi, Roberto A.
experimental part, p. 98 - 106 (2012/08/08)
2-(Diphenylphosphino)benzoic acid, isolated as the ester, was obtained by the photostimulated reaction of 2-chlorobenzoate ion with Ph2P - ions in good yield in liquid ammonia. The reaction did not occur in the dark; it was inhibited by m-dinitrobenzene and partially inhibited by a radical trap such as TEMPO. The results were consistent with the SRN1 mechanism. No evidences for aromatic nucleophilic substitution (S NAr) or benzyne mechanisms were found. ARKAT-USA, Inc.
DICHOTOMOUS REACTION PATHWAYS IN THE REACTION OF TRIARYLPHOSPHINE OXIDES WITH MEERWEIN'S SALT
Crich, David,Dyker, Hubert
, p. 475 - 476 (2007/10/02)
Addition of triphenylphosphine oxide to triethyloxonium tetrafluoroborate leads to the formation of ethoxytriphenylphosphonium tetrafluoroborate in high yield, whereas inverse addition leads an oxygen bridged diphosphonium salt.
