Di- and trisubstituted alkenylstannanes were synthesized by selective conversion of the dialkylboryl moiety of 3 to the alkenylcopper followed by treatment with methanol or alkyl halides.By starting from conjugated terminal enynes to produce 3, 2-(trimethylstannyl)-1,3-butadienes were similarly synthesized.The readily available trisubstituted alkenylstannanes are useful precursors for the synthesis of stereochemically defined tetrasubstituted alkenes.
