The title compounds Me2Sn(CH2-CH2)2PR (1 : R = Ph; 2 : R = t-Bu) were prepared by hydrostannation of (CH2=CH2)2PR with Me2SnH2.Oxidation with chalcogenes and reaction with MeI yields the corresponding P-derivatives Me2Sn(CH2-CH2)2P(X)R (3-7: X = O,S,Se) and Me2Sn(CH2-CH2)2PMePh>I- (8).NMR data (1H, 13C, 119Sn, 31P) suggest for 1-8 a rigid chair conformation with the P-substituent R being equatorially orientated.This conclusion was confirmed by the X-ray analysis of 3 which revealed that the chair is flattened at the tin segment and puckered at the phosphorus part of the ring.
