Paragraph 0126-0134, (2020/06/17)
The invention belongs to the field of organic synthesis and catalysis, and discloses a method for synthesizing an epoxy compound by catalyzing epoxidation of olefin with nano-alumina. The method comprises the following steps: adding a solvent, olefin, nano-alumina and fatty aldehyde into a reactor to obtain a mixed solution, vacuumizing a reaction container, introducing oxygen, heating and stirring for a reaction by taking olefin as a raw material, taking nano-alumina as a catalyst and taking fatty aldehyde as a reducing agent, obtaining a reaction solution after the reaction is finished, andseparating and purifying the reaction solution to obtain the epoxy compound. The method has the advantages of cheap and easily available in the catalyst, easy to obtain, mild in reaction condition, wide in substrate applicability and safe and simple to operate, and has a potential industrial application prospect.

An operationally simple and general method for acetylation and acylation of a wide variety of substrates (amines, alcohols, phenols, thiols, and hydrazones) has been reported. Meldrum's acid and its derivatives have been used as an air-stable, non-volatile, cost-effective, and easy to handle acetylating/acylating agent. Easily separable byproducts (CO2 and acetone) allowed the isolation of analytically pure acetylated products without the requirement of work-up and any chromatography. This journal is

The nano-Al 2O 3-promoted epoxidation of alkenes with molecular oxygen as the oxidant has been developed, providing an efficient route to a variety of epoxides in moderate to excellent yields. The environmentally friendly and efficient nano-Al 2O 3catalyst could be easily recovered and reused five times without significant loss of activity.
Manganese(II)/Picolinic Acid Catalyst System for Epoxidation of Olefins
Moretti, Ross A.,Du Bois,Stack, T. Daniel P.
supporting information, p. 2528 - 2531 (2016/07/06)
An in situ generated catalyst system based on Mn(CF3SO3)2, picolinic acid, and peracetic acid converts an extensive scope of olefins to their epoxides at 0 °C in 5 min, with remarkable oxidant efficiency and no evidence of radical behavior. Competition experiments indicate an electrophilic active oxidant, proposed to be a high-valent Mn = O species. Ligand exploration suggests a general ligand sphere motif contributes to effective oxidation. The method is underscored by its simplicity and use of inexpensive reagents to quickly access high value-added products.

A general epoxidation of aromatic and aliphatic olefins has been developed under mild conditions using heterogeneous CoxOy-N/C (x=1,3; y=1,4) catalysts and tert-butyl hydroperoxide as the terminal oxidant. Various stilbenes and aliph

A simple and inexpensive system comprised of H2O 2-pyridine-FeCl3 · 6H2O for the catalysis of olefin epoxidation was established. Intriguingly, the reactivity of this system greatly depends on the amounts of pyridine. Various substrates, including aromatic and aliphatic olefins, were epoxidized by this simple system in moderate to excellent yields.

We describe a comprehensive study into the Cp2TiCl-mediated reductive epoxide ring opening using either water as a hydrogen source or deuterium oxide as a deuterium source. The remarkable chemical profile of this reaction allows access to alcohols with anti-Markovnikov regiochemistry from different epoxides. The use of D2O as a deuterium source leads to an efficient synthesis of β-deuterated alcohols, including a deuterated sample of tyrosol, a bioactive compound contained in the leaves of the olive, which was successfully applied as an internal standard in food analysis.

supporting information; experimental part, p. 802 - 806 (2009/04/10)
A simple 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-quinolinolato-manganese(III) complex with the feature of pH-regulated molecular switches was conveniently synthesized and found to be a novel and highly efficient catalyst for the epoxidation of olefins with aqueous hydrogen peroxide in water-acetone media containing ammonium acetate and acetic acid as additives. This should be due to its special hexadentate binding structure that could be easily converted to the corresponding pentadentate form with a pendanthy droxy group via the opening of an axial Mn-O bond in the reaction media, as supported by in situ cyclic voltammetry and UV-vis spectra characterization.
An improved methyltrioxorhenium-catalyzed epoxidation of alkenes with hydrogen peroxide
Yamazaki, Shigekazu
, p. 2109 - 2113 (2008/02/12)
Methyltrioxorhenium (MTO)-catalyzed epoxidation of alkenes with H 2O2 has been significantly improved by using 3-methylpyrazole as an additive. A system consisting of 35% H2O 2 and MTO-3-methylpyrazole in CH2Cl2 catalyzes the epoxidation of various alkenes in excellent yields. The catalytic activity of MTO-3-methylpyrazole surpasses MTO-pyrazole and MTO-pyridine catalysts. Quantitative yields of epoxides from cyclic and internal alkenes were obtained with only 0.05-0.1 mol% of MTO in the presence of 10 mol% of 3-methylpyrazole. The Royal Society of Chemistry.
