The reaction of some arylcopper(I) complexes with carbon disulphide and bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm), in toluene, affords the trithiocarbonato complex , whose structure, as the toluene solvate, was shown by X-ray analysis to consist of a square arrangement of copper atoms with the dppm ligands bridging the edges; each of the two trithiocarbonate anions is bonded to all the four copper atoms through two sulphur atoms only.
