Graphene oxide as a carbocatalyst: The first example of a one-pot sequential dehydration-hydrothiolation of secondary aryl alcohols
Basu, Basudeb,Kundu, Samir,Sengupta, Debasish
, p. 22130 - 22134 (2013/11/06)
An efficient and mild one-pot graphene oxide (GO)-catalyzed sequential dehydration-hydrothiolation reaction has been developed for the first time from a mixture of secondary aryl alcohols and thiols. The resulting unsymmetrical thioethers were prepared under metal-free conditions. The catalyst can be reused for five runs with appreciable conversions. The Royal Society of Chemistry 2013.
Synthesis of thioethers via metal-free reductive coupling of tosylhydrazones with thiols

supporting information; experimental part, p. 748 - 751 (2011/03/22)
A metal-free procedure for the synthesis of thioethers is described via the base-promoted reductive coupling of tosylhydrazones with thiols through an insertion of a carbene into the S-H bond.
