Synthesis of mono- and di-aryltin(IV) complexes containing the ligand 2-(phenylazo)phenyl by use of organomercury compounds
Vicente, Jose,Chicote, Maria Teresa,Carreno, Remedios M.,Ramirez-de-Arellano, Maria de
, p. 263 - 268 (1989)
Reaction of with SnCl2 (1/1) in refluxing xylene gives the monoaryl complex (I) and Hg.Complex I reacts with excess of NaBr to give (II) and with HgPh2 (1/1) to give (III), which reacts with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) to give (IV); this in turn, reacts with Na, to give the cationic complex (V).The complex reacts with excess of NaBr or KSCN to give the corresponding (X = Br (VI), NCS (VII)) complexes, and with AgClO4 to give AgCl and a solution from which, by addition of pyridine (py), the complex (ClO4)2 (VIII) can be isolated.

, p. 279 - 282 (2007/10/02)
The complexes (1) can be prepared by treating with (1:1).The reactions of (1) with NMe4Cl (1:1) or excess of KX salts give NMe4 (2) or X = Br (3) or I
