Synthesis and antimicrobial properties of some new imidazolyl 2-pyrazolines

A new series of 2-pyrazoline derivatives containing imidazole moiety has been prepared by the treatment of appropriate chalcones with hydrazine hydrate and phenyl hydrazine in polyethylene glycol (PEG-400) as a green reaction solvent. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by the spectral analysis. All the synthesized products were screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activity. Some of the compounds showed significant antibacterial and antifungal activity.
