Synthesis and biological activities of [E]-5-(2-acylvinyl)uracils
Kundu,Dasgupta,Chaudhuri,Mahanty,Spears,Shahinian
, p. 473 - 479 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis of a number of 5-substituted uracils, eg [E]-5-(2-acylvinyl)uracils 8a-8g is described. These compounds were found to have cytotoxic activities against CCRF-CEM human lymphoblastoid cells, HT-29 colon carcinoma cells and L1210/0 mouse leukemia cells. These compounds were also found to inhibit thymidylate synthase.
SYNTHESIS OF NOVEL 5-(2-ACYLVINYL)URACILS
Kundu, Nitya G.,Choudhuri, Lakshmi N.
, p. 631 - 655 (2007/10/02)
5-(3-Hydroxyprop-1-ynyl)-2,4-dimethoxypyrimidine (1) on treatment with lithium aluminium hydride in tetrahydrofuran yielded 5-(3-hydroxyprop-1-enyl)-2,4-dimethoxypyrimidine (2) which on oxidation with manganese dioxide in dichloromethane led to 5-(2-formy
A Highly Convenient Procedure for the Synthesis of 5-(2-Acylvinyl)uracils, a Group of Novel 5-Substituted Uracils
Kundu, Nitya G.,Chaudhuri, Lakshmi N.,Dasgupta, Swapan K.
, p. 1822 - 1824 (2007/10/02)
An unambiguous and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of a number of 5-(2-acylvinyl)uracils, which are of interest as anticancer, antiviral, and anti-AIDS agents.
