Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 133756-29-3 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,3,3,7,5 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 133756-29:
(8*1)+(7*3)+(6*3)+(5*7)+(4*5)+(3*6)+(2*2)+(1*9)=133
133 % 10 = 3
So 133756-29-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Hexakis(4-(N-butylpyridylium))benzene: A six-electron organic redox system

Han, Zhenfu,Vaid, Thomas P.,Rheingold, Arnold L.

, p. 445 - 450 (2008/09/17)

(Chemical Equation Presented) The cobalt-catalyzed cyclotrimerization of bis(4-pyridyl)acetylene affords hexakis(4-pyridyl)benzene in moderate yield. Alkylation with n-butyltriflate gives hexakis(4-(N-butylpyridylium))benzene triflate (16+), wh

Synthesis of Tripyridiniumylpropenyl Anions from Tripyridiniumylcyclopropanes and -cyclopropenes

Crispino, Gerard A.,Breslow, Ronald

, p. 1849 - 1855 (2007/10/02)

The syntheses of three stable, isolatable tripyridiniumylpropenyl anions are described. 1,2,3-Tris(4-(N-methylpyridiniumyl))propenyl anion and 1-(benzenesulfonyl)-1,2,3-tris(4-(N-methylpyridiniumyl))propenyl anion were prepared by treating the corresponding cyclopropane with a base. 1,3-Bis(benzenesulfonyl)-1,2,3-tris(4-(N-methylpyridiniumyl))propenyl anion was prepared by nucleophilic attack of benzenesulfinate anion on 3-(benzenesulfonyl)-1,2,3-tris(4-(N-methylpyridiniumyl))cyclopropene.Reduction of this cyclopropene gave either 1-(benzenesulfonyl)-1,2,3-tris(4-(N-methylpyridiniumyl))propenyl anion or hexakis(4-(N-methylpyridiniumyl))benzene depending on the solvent used.

Tripyridylcyclopropene derivatives and their conversion to hexapyridylbenzene

Breslow, Ronald,Crispino, Gerard A.

, p. 601 - 604 (2007/10/02)

1,2,3-tris(4-pyridyl)cyclopropene carrying a 3-benzenesulfonyl group has been synthesized, and other cyclopropenes carrying pyridine and pyridinium rings. Some of these can be converted to hexa(4-pyridyl)benzene and its pyridinium analog.
