Acid to acid: A general method has been developed for the synthesis of biaryl compounds through a decarboxylative cross-coupling reaction between two different (hetero)aryl carboxylic acids (see scheme). The use of a Pd II/PCy3 catalyst enables the cross-coupling reaction of electronically different or electronically similar aryl carboxylic acids.
