Both carbonyl groups of dialkylsuccinylsuccinates participate in condensation with primary amines (benzylamine and allylamine) in DMF.Dialkyl esters of 2,5-dialkylamino-1,4-cyclohexadiene-1,4-dicarboxylic acids are formed at 60 deg C, while esters of 2,5-dialkylaminoterephthalic acid are formed at 120 deg C.
