The reaction of N,N'-thio- and N,N'-dithiobis(dialkylamines) with olefins (ethylene, cyclohexene, styrene) in the presence of Lewis acids leads to the products from 1,2-addition at the double bond of the olefin. In the presence of boron trifluoride etherate bis(2-dialkylaminoalkyl) disulfides and sulfides are formed. The use of zinc chloride leads to N-(2-dialkylaminoalkylthio)- and N-(2-dialkylaminoalkyldithio)dialkylamines.
