The invention discloses metal complexes taking phenol bicyclo-bridged bis(benzimidazole) as a precursor and a preparation method of the metal complexes. According to the invention, bis(benzimidazole) ligands are synthesized by taking benzimidazole, pyrocatechol, chlorohydrin, thionyl chloride and the like as raw materials, and the ligands react with various metal salts to obtain metal complexes, so that the crystal structures and fluorescence of the metal complexes are researched. The metal complexes have the advantages of structure adjustability, simplicity in preparation and remarkable fluorescent light sensitization effect, can be used for manufacturing fluorescent materials, and are expected to be applied to the chemical field of fluorescence. The metal complexes disclosed by the invention are mainly applied to the field of fluorescence.
