The catalytic and thermal transformations of p-cresol β-(4-tolyloxymethyl)-γ-chloroallyl ether take place through a series of rearrangements and cyclizations.Intermolecular rearrangement at one O-C bond takes palce initially, and this is followed by intramolecular rearrangement with the participation of the second O-C ether bond.
