, p. 521 - 525 (2013)
A simple and eco-friendly synthesis of the biologically important spirooxindole scaffold was done by the reaction of isatin with activated pyrazolones in the presence of a catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid in water at room temperature. A variety of symmetrical spirooxindole derivatives were obtained with excellent yields within short reaction time. This method is of great value because of its environmentally benign character, high yield, and easy handling.

, p. 1170 - 1175 (2017)
We have synthesized and characterized Ag NPs decked GO composite and studied its role as reusable catalyst for the ‘ON WATER’ chemoselective synthesis of pyranodipyrazolones via the reaction of different carbonyl compounds with 3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one. This method illustrates significant selectivity for pyranodipyrazolones over arylmethylene bispyrazolols and arylmethylenepyrazolones. Synergistic effect of heterogenic nature of water with reactants and Ag NPs/GO had profuse outcome on reaction as indicated by high TOF (18.03 × 10?5mol g?1min?1). Furthermore, catalyst was recycled for 7-times without significant loss of activity.

Some novel reactions of indole-2,3-dione (1) with pyrazolone (2) under thermal and photochemical conditions have been studied.Under thermal conditions, a variety of novel compounds viz. 1,3-dihydro-3--2H-indol-2-one (3), 3,5-dimethyl-1,7-diphenylspiro-2'-one (4), and 5-fluoro-3,3-bis(3'-methyl-5'-oxo-1'-phenylpyrazol-4'-yl)indol-2-one (5) were obtained. The photochemical irradiation afforded other compounds like 3-methyl-4,5-dioxo-1-phenylpyrazolobenzapine (6), and 3--5-fluoroindol-2-one (7) in addition to thermal products (3) and (4) or (5).
