Approaches to quantitative supramolecular chemistry. Hydrogen-bond-based molecular recognition phenomena and sigmoidal behavior in multicomponent mixtures
Wilcox, Craig S.,Adrian Jr., James C.,Webb, Thomas H.,Zawacki, Frank J.
, p. 10189 - 10197 (2007/10/02)
In this paper we present NMR data from continuous titration competition experiments and describe a method for quantitative analysis of these data. Host 1 is evaluated and shown to have an extremely high affinity for adenine derivative 4 (Ka = 5
General effects of binding site water exclusion on hydrogen bond based molecular recognition systems: A "Closed" binding site is less affected by environmental changes than an "Open" site
Adrian Jr., James C.,Wilcox, Craig S.
, p. 1398 - 1403 (2007/10/02)
A general interpretative scheme for the effects of water on hydrogen bond based molecular recognition of neutral substrates in chloroform is presented. Diacid 1a is shown to exist in wet or dry CDCl3 in the intramolecular hydrogen bonded state.
