The reaction of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones with ammonium dithiocarbamate and hydrochloric acid in alcohols yields 4-alkoxytetrahydro-1,3-thiazine-2-thiones in one step.The reactions of these thione products with O-nucleophiles were studied.An anomeric effect was found for the compounds synthesized.
