138529-36-9 Usage

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 138529-36-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,3,8,5,2 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 138529-36:
(8*1)+(7*3)+(6*8)+(5*5)+(4*2)+(3*9)+(2*3)+(1*6)=149
149 % 10 = 9
So 138529-36-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

4-(4′-Alkyloxyphenylazo)benzoyl chlorides not only intermediates but photosensitive mesogens for optical switching

Jaworska, Joanna,Korbecka, Izabela,Kochel, Andrzej,Galewski, Zbigniew

, p. 877 - 882 (2016/12/30)

This paper presents results of our studies of a full homologous series of 4-(4′-alkyloxyphenylazo)benzoyl chlorides. Until now these compounds have been used only as intermediates for more complex materials and their properties were not investigated as ac

Isothermal Chirality Switching in Liquid-Crystalline Azobenzene Compounds with Non-Polarized Light

Alaasar, Mohamed,Poppe, Silvio,Dong, Qingshu,Liu, Feng,Tschierske, Carsten

supporting information, p. 10801 - 10805 (2017/08/30)

Spontaneous mirror-symmetry breaking is a fundamental process for development of chirality in natural and in artificial self-assembled systems. A series of triple chain azobenzene based rod-like compounds is investigated that show mirror-symmetry breaking

4-Methylresorcinol based bent-core liquid crystals with azobenzene wings-a new class of compounds with dark conglomerate phases

supporting information, p. 5487 - 5501 (2014/07/08)

Stochastic achiral symmetry breaking in soft matter systems, leading to conglomerates of macroscopically chiral domains (so-called dark conglomerate = DC phases) is of contemporary interest from a fundamental scientific point of view as well as for numero

New cholesteryl-containing bent core liquid crystals

Huzum, Cosmin-Constantin,Carlescu, Irina,Lisa, Gabriela,Scutaru, Dan

, p. 669 - 680 (2013/07/26)

The paper presents the synthesis and mesomorphic behavior of two new series of bent core liquid crystalline compounds based on a 1,3-dihydroxybezene core and containing a cholesteryl 6-oxyhexanoate wing. The two series were obtained by esterification of t

Synthesis and physico-chemical properties for 2-oxochromen-6-yl 4-(4-alkoxyphenylazo)benzoates

Morita, Yuki,Uemura, Hiroshi,Shimoi, Kentaro,Kasatani, Kazuo,Okamoto, Hiroaki

, p. 163 - 172 (2011/08/02)

This paper describes the preparation and thermal properties for homologous series of 2-oxochromen-6-yl 4-(4-alkoxyphenylazo)benzoates (compounds 1-n). Compounds 1-n show nematic phase exclusively, where the nematic-isotropic phase transition temperatures are between 293° C for 1-4 and 256° C for 1-8. Interestingly, compound 1-8 exhibits smectic A and re-entrant nematic phases in addition to the nematic one. The smectic A phase are characterized using a small angle X-ray diffraction study, indicating the smectic A phase has a partially bilayer molecular arrangement.
