The present invention relates in general to a compound which is characterized by a formula selected from the following formulas A, B, C, D, E or F; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The present invention further relates to pharmaceutical composition comprising the inhibitor(s) of the invention and to their use in the treatment of (for treating) a disease which is associated with an excess transport of hyaluronan across a lipid bilayer. The present invention furthermore relates to the use of at least one inhibitor of the invention for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of (for treating) a disease which is associated with an excess transport of hyaluronan across a lipid bilayer.
