Aldoxime ethers (I - IV) have been prepared from 1-oxo-8-alkoxy/benzyloxy/phenoxy-2,6-dimethyl-2,6-octadiene/2-octene by alkylation of their oximes.Bioassay of aldoxime ethers on the eggs of Culex quinquefasciatus shows that some of these oxime ethers completely inhibit adult emergence at 0.1 ppm, whereas n-propyl oxime ether of 1-oxo-8-benzyloxy-2,6-dimethyl-2-octene (IIIc) inhibits 90percent adult emergence at 0.01 ppm dose level.
