PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing O-ethyl S-n-propyl(E)-[2-(cyanoimino)-3-ethylimidazolidin-1-yl]phosphonothioate at high purity and high yield. SOLUTION: In this method, O-ethyl S-n-propyl(E)-[2-(cyanoimino)-3-ethylimidazolidin-1-yl]phosphonothioate is produced by making 2-(cyanoimino)-1-ethylimidazolidine react with O-ethyl-S-n-propylphosphorochloridethioate in the presence of an inert solvent and basic substance.
