A novel palladium-catalyzed C-H oxidation of isoquinoline N-oxides has been developed for regioselectively synthesizing substituted isoquinolines. The method represents the first example of using dialkyl sulfoxides as the alkyl sources for the construction of 1-alkylated isoquinolines.
