Going pro: The title reaction between α-silylimines and activated olefins proceeds in the presence of a CuI/DTBM-Segphos catalyst system with excellent diastereoselectivity and enantioselectivity. This process provides straightforward access to highly enantioenriched 5-unsubstituted α-quaternary proline derivatives.
