Pharmaceuticals containing or composed of at least one compound of the formula I and/or one of its physiologically tolerated salts where appropriate, where the compounds of the formula I can, where appropriate, be in the form of pure stereoisomers or mixtures thereof; formula I is: STR1 in which R. sup.1 =organic radical or halogen, A=C,C single or C,C double bond,n=0, 1 or 2, and STR2 R 2 and R 3 =H or optionally substituted aliphatic radical. Argon/phosphine samples have been reacted with O atoms from a discharge, and the products trapped in solid argon for infrared spectroscopic analysis.Studies with isotopic precursors, stepwise photolysis, and sample annealing have made possible spectroscopic identification of PO, HPO, PO2, PO3, HOPO, P2O5, H2PO, and HPOH, the last five for the first time.The PO3 species appears to have D3h symmetry from the isotopic out-of-plane bending mode absorption.Molecular P2O5 is fromed on diffusion and reaction of PO2 and PO3.The major phosphine-oxygen atom reaction product H2PO photoisomerizes to HPOH.
