R-(-)-O-DESMETHYLVENLAFAXINE is used as an antidepressant for treating various forms of depression. It functions by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and noradrenaline, thereby increasing their availability in the synaptic cleft and improving mood and emotional well-being.
Additionally, R-(-)-O-DESMETHYLVENLAFAXINE can be used to treat sleep-related breathing disorders, such as sleep apnea, due to its potential effects on the regulation of respiratory function during sleep.
