2-Acyl 3-acyloxy-2-cyclohexen-1-ones were obtained in 50-90percent yields by acylation of the sodium salts of 2-acylcyclohexane-1,3-diones in acetone with acid chlorides.In contrast to enol ethers, endocyclic monoenol acylates react with amines to give enamino derivatives involving the exocyclic keto group.A simple method for the transformation of cyclohexane β-triketones to γ-pyrone derivatives by their reaction with aliphatic anhydrides in the presence of sodium salts of the corresponding acids is proposed.
