, p. 1684 - 1690 (2013)
In the present study we have prepared a series of some chalcones using solvent - free Aldol - condensation by microwave irradiation. The yields of the ketones are more than 60%. The synthesised chalcones were characterized by their analytical, physical and spectral data. The antimicrobial activities of substituted styryl 3-thienyl ketones have been studied using Bauer-Kirby method.
Potassium tert-butoxide catalyzed synthesis and characterization of novel 3-aryl-3-(phenylthio)-1-(thiophen-3-yl)propan-1-one derivatives
Budak, Yakup
scheme or table, p. 341 - 344 (2012/04/23)
A series of thiophenyl-containing 3-thiophene derivatives (4a-4i) were prepared via the reaction of chalcone-analogua compounds (3a-3i) and thiophenol in the presence of catalytic amount of KOBu-t in CH2Cl2 with moderate to high yiel
Unexpected lactonization accompanying addition of ethyl acetoacetate to chalcones derived from 3-acetylthiophene
Budak, Yakup,Findik, Esra
scheme or table, p. 1255 - 1261 (2012/01/03)
Chalcone derivatives containing thiophene ring were prepared by the condensation of 3-acetylthiophene with aromatic aldehydes in excellent yields. The addition of ethyl acetoacetate to chalcone derivatives 3a-3h in the presence of solid NaOH in CH2Cl2 resulted in the formation of the mixture of bicyclic lactone derivatives 5a-5h and 6-(ethoxycarbonyl) cyclohexenone derivatives 6a-6h.
Preparation of diethyl malonate adducts from chalcone analogs containing A thienyl ring
Budak, Yakup,Burcu Guerdere,Kececi, Meryem,Ceylan, Mustafa
experimental part, p. 85 - 91 (2010/12/19)
Nine chalcone-diethyl malonate derivatives (4a-i) were prepared by the reaction of chalcone derivatives (3a-i) with diethyl malonate in the presence of a catalytic amount of KOt-Bu in CHJCIJ in good to excellent yields. The products were characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analyses.
