Peroxidase oxidation of o-dianisidine, 3,3′,5,5′- tetramethylbenzidine, and o-phenylenediamine in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), an anionic surfactant, was spectrophotometrically studied. It was found that 0.1-100 mM SDS concentrations stabilize intermediates formed in the peroxidase oxidation of these substrates.
