C(14a)-Homo-27-norgammacera-14-ene-3,21-dione is a complex organic compound with the molecular formula C27H40O2. It is a derivative of gammacerane, a triterpane found in sedimentary rocks and used as a biomarker in geochemistry. The compound is characterized by the presence of a 14-ene double bond and a 3,21-dione functional group, which are key features in its structure. The "C(14a)-homo" prefix indicates that the compound has an additional carbon atom in the 14a position compared to the parent gammacerane structure, and the "27-nor" prefix suggests the absence of two carbon atoms, making it a nor-derivative. C(14a)-Homo-27-norgammacera-14-ene-3,21-dione is of interest in the field of organic chemistry and geochemistry, where it can provide insights into the composition and formation of geological samples.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1449-07-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,4,4 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1449-07:
(6*1)+(5*4)+(4*4)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*7)=76
76 % 10 = 6
So 1449-07-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

TERPENOID AND OTHER EXTRACTIVES OF WESTERN WHITE PINE BARK

Conner, Anthony H.,Nagasampagi, Bhimsen A.,Rowe, John W.

, p. 1121 - 1132 (1980)

A detailed chemical analysis of the benzene extract of western white pine bark was conducted. The extract consisted of 13percent phlobaphenes, 18percent strong acids, 21percent polar weak acids, 6.5percent fatty acids, 9.5percent resin acids, and 32percent neutrals. The fatty acids consisted mainly of C20:O, C22:O, and C24:O acids. The resin acids were identified as: isopimaric, anticopalic, dehydroabietic, sandaracopimaric, abietic, 6,8,11,13-abietatetraen-18-oic and pimaric acids. The neutrals on saponification gave fatty acids, sterols, wax alcohols, nonsaponifiables, and other components. The esterified fatty acids consisted primarily of the C16:O, C18:O, C20:O and C24:O acids. The sterols included major amounts of sitosterol, campesterol, and stigmasterol, and traces of cholesterol.Over 70 individuel compounds were isolated and identified from the nonsaponifiables. These included borneol, sesquiterpenes, diterpenes, steroidal ketones, as well as lanostane and serratane triterpenes. The characterization of 12 new natural products or natural products isolated for the first time from Pinus species is reported. - Key Word Index: Pinus monticola; Pinaceae; western white pine; bark extractives; resin acids; triterpenes; sterols; fatty acids.
