The reaction of dialkylphosphites with 2,2-dichlorocyclopropanecarbaldehyde in the presence of sodium alkoxides occurs with retention of the cyclopropane ring and leads to preparation of dialkyl-1-(2,2-dichlorocyclopropyl)-1-hydroxymethylphosphonates.By reaction of the acid chloride of 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid with dialkyl-1-alkyl(aryl)-1-hydroxymethylphosphonates, we have obtained the corresponding phosphorus-containing esters.
