The reactions of 2-(diethylamino)-3--1,3,2-benzoxazaphospholine with alcohols, phenols, and glycols proceed with the breakage of the exocyclic P-N bond, the subsequent N -> P migration of the (diethylamino)methyl group, and the formation, depending on the structure of the proton donor, of dimers of phosphonimidates or symmetric or unsymmetric spiro compounds, while thiolysis goes with the breakage of the N3-CH2 bond.
