2-Bromo-6-[(3-cyclohexylaminopropylimino)methyl]phenol is a Schiff base ligand derived from the condensation of 3-bromosalicylaldehyde with N-cyclohexylpropane-1,3-diamine. It serves as a versatile chelating agent, forming stable mononuclear complexes with transition metals such as manganese(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II). These complexes exhibit octahedral coordination geometries, with the ligand binding through its phenolate oxygen and imine nitrogen atoms. The resulting metal complexes have been structurally characterized and explored for catalytic properties, such as styrene epoxidation, as well as preliminary antibacterial activities. The ligand itself exists in a zwitterionic form in some metal complexes.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1451054-32-2 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,4,5,1,0,5 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1451054-32:
(9*1)+(8*4)+(7*5)+(6*1)+(5*0)+(4*5)+(3*4)+(2*3)+(1*2)=122
122 % 10 = 2
So 1451054-32-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis, X-Ray structural characterization, and catalytic property of a manganese (II) Complex with 2-Bromo-6-[(3-cyclohexylammoniopropylimino)methyl] phenolate and thiocyanate ligands

Yang, Qiwen,Lei, Yan,Wang, Pu

, p. 1208 - 1211 (2014)

A new manganese(II) complex [MnL2(NCS)2] ·2H2O with the Schiff base ligand derived from 3-bromosalicylaldehyde with N-cyclohexylpropane-1,3-diamine has been synthesized and structurally characterized by physicochemical methods and single-crystal X-ray determination. The crystal of the complex crystallizes in monoclinic space group C2/c, with a = 24.749(2), b = 7.2957(7), c = 26.183(4) A, β = 118.70(2)°, V = 4171.6(8) A3, Z = 4, R 1 = 0.0893, wR 2 = 0.2305, GOOF = 1.084. X-ray analysis indicates that the complex is a mononuclear manganese species, which possesses crystallographic inversion center symmetry. The Mn atom, lying on the inversion center, is coordinated in an octahedral coordination by two phenolate O and two imine N atoms from two Schiff base ligands, and two thiocyanate N atoms. The catalytic property for epoxidation of styrene by the complex has also been tested.

Synthesis, structures, and antimicrobial activity of nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes with schiff bases derived from 3-bromosalicylaldehyde

Xue,Li,Zhao,Yang

, p. 872 - 876 (2014/02/14)

The Schiff bases 2-bromo-6-[(3-cyclohexylaminopropylimino)methyl]phenol (HCMP) and 2-bromo-6-[(3-dimethylaminopropylimino)methyl]phenol (HDMP) derived from 3-bromosalicylaldehyde with N-cyclohexylpropane-1,3-diamine and N,N-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine, respectively, and their nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes [Ni(CMP)2] (I) and [ZnCl2(HDMP)] (II) have been prepared and char- acterized by elemental analyses, IR, and single crystal X-ray crystallographic determination. The crystal of I is monoclinic: space group P21/c, a = 12.0304(6), b = 13.1594(6), c = 10.2445(5) A, β = 101.019(1)°, V = 1591.9(1) A3, Z = 2. The crystal of II is monoclinic: space group C2/c, a = 22.286(5), b = 12.210(3), c = 14.513(3) A, β = 124.118(3)°, V = 3269.5(13) A3, Z = 8. The Schiff base HCMP coordinates to the Ni atom through the phenolate O, imine N, and amine N atoms, while the Schiff base HDMP coordinates to the Zn atom through the phenolate O and imine N atoms. The effect of these complexes on the antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans were studied. Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2013.
