145416-37-1 Usage

General Description

(-)-L-α-dioxolane-cytosine, also known as lamivudine, is a synthetic nucleoside analogue and antiretroviral medication used to treat HIV/AIDS and chronic hepatitis B. Structurally, it is a cytosine analogue with a dioxolane ring at the sugar moiety, which inhibits the action of the viral reverse transcriptase enzyme. By interfering with the replication of the virus, lamivudine helps to lower the viral load in the body and slow down the progression of the disease. It is typically administered orally and is often used in combination with other antiretroviral medications to maximize its effectiveness and reduce the likelihood of developing drug resistance. Common side effects of lamivudine may include nausea, fatigue, and headaches, but it is generally well-tolerated by most patients.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 145416-37-1 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,4,5,4,1 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 145416-37:
(8*1)+(7*4)+(6*5)+(5*4)+(4*1)+(3*6)+(2*3)+(1*7)=121
121 % 10 = 1
So 145416-37-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

3'-Oxa-4'-thiocytidine nucleoside analogues 14-17 were prepared from oxathiolanes 10 and 11, and evaluated for activity against HIV-1 and HBV in vitro. The nucleoside analogues were found to possess potent activities against HIV-1 in a panel of cell lines. Compound 16 is moderately active against HBV in 2.2.15 cells.
