1,3,5-Trichlorononamethylcyclohexasilane is the first trifunctional cyclohexasilane to be reported and is produced by the reaction of dodecamethylcyclohexasilane with SbCl5 beside the mono- and 1,3- and 1,4- dichlorinated methylcyclohexasilanes.Starting from this trichloro-compound, Ph-, Br-, F-, H-, and CF3SO3-derivatives were prepared and characterized by NMR, and the structure of the phenyl derivative was determined by X-ray diffraction.Different stereoisomers were formed as can be seen from detailed NMR investigation of the fluorine derivative.
