General Description
2-[(2-CYANOETHYL)AMINO]-3-PHENYLPROPANOIC ACID, also known as Pregabalin, is a medication used to treat epilepsy, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and generalized anxiety disorder. It is a synthetic compound that acts as a ligand for the alpha2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. Pregabalin inhibits the release of several neurotransmitters, including glutamate, norepinephrine, and substance P, leading to its anticonvulsant, analgesic, and anxiolytic effects. It is a closely related analog of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), but it does not directly bind to GABA receptors. Pregabalin's chemical structure consists of a 3-phenylpropyl moiety and a 2-aminoethyl group linked to a cyano group, giving it its pharmacological properties.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 15095-74-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,5,0,9 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 15095-74:
(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*0)+(4*9)+(3*5)+(2*7)+(1*4)=106
106 % 10 = 6
So 15095-74-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
