Vibrational spectra and bonding in metal carbonyls. III. Force constants and assignments of CO stretching modes in various molecules; evaluation of CO bond orders
Cotton
, p. 702 - 711 (1964)
Data from the literature for a large number of substituted group VI carbonyls and for some manganese carbonyl halides and their derivatives are treated by the methods described in earlier papers in this series. It is shown how the method can eliminate inc
Vibrational spectra and bonding in metal carbonyls. II. Infrared spectra of amine-substituted group VI carbonyls in the CO stretching region
Kraihanzel,Cotton
, p. 533 - 540 (1963)
The method presented earlier for interpreting the CO stretching frequencies of substituted metal carbonyls of the type MLn(CO)6-n in terms of CO stretching and stretch-stretch interaction force constants is applied to molecules in wh
Kinetic studies of ligand substitution reactions and general-base catalysis in amine-ligand exchange processes for group 6B metal carbonyl amine derivatives. Kinetic and spectroscopic evidence for hydrogen-bonded intermediates
Darensbourg, Donald J.,Ewen, John A.
, p. 4168 - 4177 (2008/10/08)
The decomposition and ligand substitution reactions of group 6B metal pentacarbonyl piperidine derivatives with phosphines have been studied. The reactions are catalyzed by the Lewis bases OP(n-C4H9)3 and tetrahydrofuran (THF). It is concluded that the results are best accounted for in terms of hydrogen-bonded intermediates in the general-base catalysis with the mechanism for catalysis being closely analogous to a dissociative interchange (Id) pathway. The intermediates have been observed and characterized by infrared spectroscopy.
