THE PREPARATION AND TIN-119 MOESSBAUER SPECTRA OF ANIONIC ORGANOPENTAHALOGENO- AND TETRAHALOGENO-STANNATE(IV) COMPLEXES
Hobbs, Lindsey A.,Smith, Peter J.
, p. 59 - 67 (1981)
A series of anionic monoorgano-pentahalogenostannate(IV) complexes, M2+2-, where M = K+, Me4N+, Et4N+ or MePPh3+; X = F, Cl or Br; R = Bu, Ph or R'OCOCH2CH2 (R' = Me or Et), has been prepared and these compounds have been studied by 119mSn Moessbauer spectroscopy. The novel mono-organo-tetrachlorostannate salts, Me4N+-, where R' = Et, R, i-Pr or Bu, have been synthesised and their infrared spectra indicate that the carbonyl group is coordinated to tin, thereby completing an octahedral configuration about the metal. When R' = Et, the pentachlorostannate salt, (Me4N)2+2-, containing a free carbonyl group, could also be isolated, whilst with the weaker electron donating methyl group, only the pentachlorostannate complex was formed.
Easy general method for interhalide conversions in organotin compounds
Zobel, Bernhard,Lim, Allan E. K.,Dunn, Kerri,Dakternieks, Dainis
, p. 4889 - 4890 (2008/10/08)
The halides in organotin halides are easily interconverted in excellent yields using aqueous ammonium halide solutions and various organic solvents.
